Can not find package dependeny PyQt bindings

Postby leegold » Tue Aug 18, 2009 9:03 pm

q7z-0.8.0-1.package

Trying to install on Xubuntu 9.04 the gui install instructions did not correspond at all to my flow. Though I did check a box under the permissions tab that said "Allow this file to run as a program". Nothing GUI-wise was able to install or start the package install process.

So I tried the cmd line technique, some dependencies were not there. So I tried to install the missing dependencies. I have one more dependency to install, but the cited dependency (PyQt bindings) is not listed in Synaptic. PyQt bindings is not available in Synaptic. There are plenty of similar looking things PyQt3, PyQt4...but not PyQt. PyQt4 did not work. What is the fix please?

Also is there a way of cleaning up after the install or attempted install?

Hi there,

I'm not sure, but I think the package is named python-qt or something similar. I'm currently at work (Windows 2000 :( ), but I'll try it myself when I get back home.

Also is there a way of cleaning up after the install or attempted install?

What do you mean?
